Technologies for a meshed HVDC offshore wind transmission grid in Europe are ready for use – political will and action at all stakeholder levels is needed nowClick headline to read the full press release!ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Originally planned as a two-day conference in Brussels in May 2020, the event evolved into an online event series due to the COVID-19 countermeasures in place that year.
On 24 August 2020, the event series kicked off with a broadcast of our session at the CIGRE 2020 e-sessions. Following this event, we continue with a set of weekly breakout sessions that took a closer look at the work done in PROMOTioN’s different work packages. Each session was dedicated to a certain theme and featured a set of pre-recorded talks on the subject at hand. Talks were made available every Monday, giving attendees the opportunity to browse the content on their own time while providing background for a live Q&A session dedicated to the respective topic every Friday.
On 21 September 2020, the main conference day, we brought these different puzzle pieces together and looked into the future of MOGs in the EU during a live online event: Summary Reports from the previous breakout sessions set the stage and lead up to a live panel discussion, where we invited high-level representatives from our partner institutions to debate the lessons learned from PROMOTioN and the potential ways forward to develop a MOG in the European context.
For more details on the main conference day, our panelists, the breakout sessions and for links to the presentations, please refer to the respective entries below.
